What a pleasure I had today. Incidentally catching my fine next door neighbor changing in her room.
LOLOL ITS A JOKE.
BUT I DID GET THE PLEASURE OF HEARING THIS TAPE "Till Forever, Brooklyn" by Psyfer. Your next move will be simple after reading this if you have not heard his tape yet.
One quick question I had to ask myself first, "Did I think I would be exhilarated to talk about a tape I have never heard from an artist you probably have not heard yet either?"
The answer is no, but here we are. Hooray for music.
"Till Forever, Brooklyn" is a smooth transitioned, emotional coaster that tickles each style being demonstrated by very popular artists you can hear today on the radio. I do not mean to talk about artists other then Psyfer, but I am hearing a Lupe Fiasco influence off the bat in the first track "Wonder Wheel Intro". (I mean this in an awesome way) What I hear is an immense amount of potential. The first track really makes you feel like you are in for a good night; if you are getting ready to go out of course. I can even hear some Walter Meego in his auto tuned pitch during the first track. With these comparisons made, Psyfer is doing it different. His heavy voice demands your attention, and gains your sympathy. Sympathy in the sense that this man really puts his soul on the track, and you can not help but to feel.
Track 2 is a keeper, but I want to talk about Track 3 "Really Tho" because this is awesome. The drop of the beat really allowed Psyfer to make that "Ok heres my best track" flow. Is it his best on the tape? I will decide later, but what I mean is, he sure rapped like it.
1/4 of the tape through and we have been all over Psyfer's mind and somewhat aware of his asparations. "I smoke too manyyyyy" goes his fourth track as an anthem to every taking a pull from whatever it is they frequent. Call it cigarettes or weed or whatever but at Culture Spoon we want you to hear music and apply it to you. Maybe you have made too many poor decisions, and need his first verse to bring you back up. At 3 minutes there is a transition to a come down that you will just love. The background vocals are chilling and his chorus really compliments the conclusion of the track. STOP SMOKIN 2 MANY PSYF!
Honestly track 5 could be my favorite because of its concept. It is called "Know Me Yet" and he goes down the list of influential people who do not know him, YET. Yet is exactly the word for it because this man can write! You can get such a friendly feeling from him when he raps smooth here and lays a "my sisters know me best" line. A lot of rappers use foul language which is not something we frown upon, but we do appreciate a clean soulful track.
I am not from Brooklyn, but I sure feel like I am standing on one of those corners with this man when he puts out tracks like #9 & #10. These tracks are awesome hip hop tributes with dope samples. If you smoke this is a good time to burn one lol. In all honesty this tape is going to raise your spirit so keep it close to you.
"Till Forever, Brooklyn" has been a pleasure listening to, and writing about because it is in your best interest to stay up with Psyf.
